"Sunburn" is a single by the English rock band Muse from their debut album, Showbiz. It was the fourth single that the band released, with "Uno", "Cave" and "Muscle Museum" being released previously. The release date in the UK was February 21, 2000, and was released as a two-CD set and an accompanying 7" vinyl. The artwork for the two CDs differed in colour to help distinguish between them: CD one was in red, CD two in yellow. There were also a number of remixes released later the same year: the Timo Maas Sunstroke Remix, the Breakz Again Remix and the Steven McCreery Remix. It was the first Muse song ever to hit the top 40, and as a result they became better known to the public. Muscle Museum was re-released also reaching the top 40. The song also appears on the Hullabaloo Live DVD and the Absolution DVD. The song featured on a TV advertisement for Apple's iMac. The piano riff also appears in The BBC's coverage of The Masters when they show the scoreboard.

The B-sides "Yes Please" and "Ashamed" appear on the Hullabaloo Soundtrack in the B-sides collection.

[edit] Music Video

The video for the song includes a young Brooke Kinsella, who later rose to fame as an actress in Eastenders. It shows her babysitting a young boy and she suddenly heads upstairs.

Entering a bedroom, she's in the wardrobe for a few minutes and Bellamy and Wolstenholme appear in the mirrors on the doors either side of her. Before she can show them, they quickly disappear. Standing in front of a giant mirror, she's shocked when Bellamy, Howard and Wolstenholme emerge.

The pressure slowly rising, she struggles to cope with seeing them playing in front of her. Finally, Bellamy's sinister laugh causes her to snap and throw an object, thus smashing the glass.

When the young boy enters, he sees the room in a mess and then looks behind him. In the mirror, Muse have strangely vanished and in their place is the girl.
