Sun chart

A sun chart is a graph of solar azimuth and solar altitude for a particular latitude, by time of day and for one or more days of the year. Typically, there are 7 plots, of one day per month, from June 21 to December 21 or December 21 to June 21 (between the solstices). The graph may show all 360 degrees of azimuth, or, more typically for graphs of Northern Hemisphere locations, only southern angles. A chart of sky view obstructions (trees, buildings, etc) for a particular location can be superimposed over a sun chart for that location to obtain solar insolation data (and to get a general sense of how sunny the spot is).
