[edit] Summary

Image by M. D. Vaden of Oregon. A sunburned trunk - one of 30 sunburned flowering cherry street trees in a row, all with similar sunburn (no trunk protection was used after planting). Sunburn damage on trees is not near-immediate as with humans. Tree trunk sunburn doesn't manifest itself "to the eye" for one, two or a few years.
