[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:COInterface.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:COInterface.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 06:23, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks for the smile - right back at you :)

[edit] Re: =)

Hey Marc, thanks for the message. However, I am curious to see which warning I left to a newcome was a bit harsh. Looking back in my last 50 edits, I can only see two warnings I gave – one to an anon who had already received a number of warnings, and was blanking a section of an article, and the other one to new user Uyuyuyuy, in his/her first edit. I assume you are referring to the latter. I have to say, I think giving a {{uw-vandalism1}} warning was fairly light considering the user registered solely to make this edit, obviously vandalism. I normally would have given a 2 or 3 level, but since it was the user's first edit, I went with 1. So, thanks for the reminder about WP:BITE, but I don't feel it was violated here. Best, Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 01:42, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

Not at all, we all go through it. Don't worry about it. Cheers, Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 17:03, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks!

Thanks for catching the vandalism to my user page. That's the first time that's ever happened and it's so nice to know that other Wikipedians are so quick off the mark! The first time a vandal has hit back at me...should I have a warm, glowy feeling? :D Thanks again, Farosdaughter 22:39, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] WoW

... it is kinda 500ish,cause private servers are 20x exp and it only takes around 6 hours to get to level 90. when official server, blizzard's,is longer and with level 70. it kinda 5x60 cause the first 10 are easy. but what i jus said is 1:1,then 4:1. then so on to around 6. it takes a really long time to level up in that game.

well ya but ima rebel rawr! blizzard can never take me down! They are jus the man. that grind is the main reason for adiction. plus theres funnier less grindy games. User:Hitamaru

[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:ConquerApp.JPG)

Thanks for uploading Image:ConquerApp.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 01:49, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Reversion

I reverted the user on account of the language he used on the page, which I felt was unnecessary on the user talk page of an IP address - and, coming from an IP address which he apparently shared with vandals, in my eyes, not entirely coincidental. Feel free to do what you feel is necessary with the page. Bobo. 01:38, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Criticism sections

As far as an existing enterprise goes, that's very similar to WP:BLP, in that unsourced and controversial information should get gone quickly and come back later if sourceable. I've had a look for sourcing, but I really can't find a thing but a few forum postings, which of course are not reliable sources. Seraphimblade Talk to me 02:55, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Help!

If a user is making a page and all they've put on it is "Under Construction", does this merit a speedy deletion...do I suggest to the user that they construct the page else where? i.e. a word document, and then copy it to Wikipedia after? --Marc Talk 00:21, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

Hi there. If there isn't any content, it technically falls under CSD. But unless the tag has been up for days without change, I'd leave it for now (AGF and all). (But suggesting the editor userfy the material might be a good idea too). Best, --Bfigura (talk) 00:25, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
Sorry, should have been more clear there. Userfy = create in their userspace. So for example, User:Exampleuser/ExampleArticle. --Bfigura (talk) 00:26, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] "Under construction" articles

I don't think we should encourage these -- a lot of the time, people forget about them and they sit there for days. If the author is really about to write a good article, he/she can always do so. There's no reason to "reserve" an article title with an empty article. Thanks, NawlinWiki 00:36, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:ConquerApp.JPG)

Thanks for uploading Image:ConquerApp.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:FindmeHR.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:FindmeHR.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 06:19, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:ConquerApp.JPG

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:ConquerApp.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. After Midnight 0001 16:12, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
