[edit] Origin of Sumo Sniper

The name Sumo Sniper has always been a good conversation starter, "Where the the hell did you come up with that?" usualy starting said conversation. The name Sumo Sniper was created in the year 2001 by me, when I was deciding on a name for my player in Tribes 2, which you will notice is still my favourite game. I decided to combine things: I was slightly chubby back then, hence sumo, and my favourite weapon was always a sniper rifle, hence sniper. And thus, rather anticlimaticly, Sumo Sniper was born. Since then, to the best of my knowledge nobody else has attempted to use the name except for some lowlife on Gamespy arcade.

A not-so-common misconception about the name is a decidedly racist one, that my name means that I, the player, likes to snipe sumo-wrestlers. This is not the correct interpretation of the name, and I assure you I have only the uttmost respect for the sport of sumo-wrestling and its athletes.
