As a camp nurse your children will attend the same summer camp also. This is the best part your child will go for free and have the time of their life.
When you have time off you can use the camp facility. Most nurses enjoy the active lifestyle of camp; if you like to swim, play tennis, ride, sail, etc., you're welcome to participate!
So if you never went to camp as a child, try it as an adult/ summer camp nurse.

Some duties will include the following:
1.Summer camp nurses will act as liaison between Infirmary and Summer Camp
2.Summer camp nurses will review medical forms for special needs.
3. Summer camp nurse will examine campers and staff upon arrival in camp for lice or general problems noted and to talk about medication.
4. Summer camp nurse will confer with parents as to special problems of each camper.
5. Summer camp nurse will collect medications and set-up schedule for dispensing of them.
6. Summer camp nurse will maintain medical log, complete forms for each illness/injury and update the progress notes as needed.
7. Summer camp nurse will attend staff meetings and notify staff of health problems and concerns.
8. Summer camp nurse will confer with infirmary daily and assist in making decisions on campers, participation in activities.
9. Summer camp nurse will prepare and maintain first aid kits for various on-site locations and off campus trips.
10. Summer camp nurse will maintain first aid center in the infirmary and order all necessary supplies.
11. Summer camp nurse will inventory supplies at end of season for reorder.
12. Summer camp nurse will establish and maintain working relationship with local doctors and hospital.
13. Summer camp nurses will work with director and owners on recommendations for changes.
14. Summer camp nurse will supervise carrying out the Standing Orders as approval by physician.
15. Summer camp nurse will review all Incident/Accident Reports to identify ways to prevent and reduce incidents, accidents and injuries.
16. Summer camp nurse will close, clean and secure the infirmary for the winter.
