Summit Middle School Program is a grade 7 to 8 public middle school within Academy School District 20 in Colorado Springs, Colorado in the United States. Summit is a nontraditional middle school that employs small class sizes, high motivation enrichments, and character education to help students reach their potential. The school has an innovative program that includes the Why Try Program[1] and is recognized as an early deterrent to the problem of high school drop outs.[2]

Summit emphasizes community service in its curriculum and activities, and Summit has gained recognition in Colorado Springs for its community service.[3][4]

Summit is a leader in developing curricula to support 21st Century Learning Skills. Summit is a technology-rich program, employing a nearly one-to-one ratio of computers to students. The school uses a learning content management system, so that students can take assessments and lessons online. Students can also opt to learn high-interest technology skills, such as 3D animation and image manipulation.
