Summer Holloway is a fictional character on the American soap opera General Hospital. Brittany Powell portrayed the character from November 2002 until June 2003.

Luke Spencer met Summer in the park where he was grieving for his wife, Laura Spencer. She was recently committed to a mental institution. Luke saw a close resemblance between Laura and Summer. Luke pushed Summer out of the way of a car. The driver told Luke that he did not see anyone there. Luke's therapist was convinced that Luke had made up the story. Summer told Luke that she was a call girl and that her real name was Laura. Luke asked Summer to pretend to be Laura and he would pay her. Summer thought that Laura was dead. They reenacted different moments in Luke and Laura's lives, but Luke could not prove any of these moments.
During their time together, Luke discovered that Summer was in hiding from a powerful client. Summer preferred to stay in hiding. She tried to convince Luke that she was not real to avoid seeing Luke. Luke was convinced that Summer was real. He sat on the edge of the roof at General Hospital until Summer came out of hiding and revealed herself to be a real person. Summer met Lucky Spencer while enrolling in college courses. She introduced herself as Laura. Summer was developing feelings for Lucky and she had them for Luke. She did not know that they were related.
When the powerful client, Senator Jordan, found Summer he beat her and had her arrested. Lucky blackmailed Scott Baldwin in helping her dispose of the senator. Scott wanted to date her in return for help. She refused. The friendship between Lucky and Summer turned into a love affair.
Lucky saw Luke and Summer together. He thought that she was trying to con them out of money. They decided to not tell Luke about it. Scott discovered the truth and had no problem telling Luke. Luke tried to get Summer and Lucky back together. His attempts were not successful and Summer went back to being a call girl.
Nikolas Cassadine tried to keep Lucky and Summer apart and kept reminding Lucky that she was a call girl. He warned Summer to stay away from Lucky or he would not help her find her brother. Summer told Lucky about her brother which made Nikolas angry. It turns out that Nikolas hired Summer to dress like Laura and to mess with Luke's head to keep him from finding out where Laura was being institutionalized. She was supposed to get Luke to fall in love with her so he would forget about Laura. Nikolas was going to pay her cash and tell her where to find her brother. Summer told Luke about the whole scam and he warned her not to do it again or he would kill her.
Lucky agreed to help Summer find her brother. They broke into Wyndemere and found clues that lead them to Greece. They found Matt and he revealed that Summer was not his sister and then he was stabbed in the back. Summer then admitted that she was only looking for Matt to find out where money was hidden. They were arrested for Matt's murder. Nikolas came to bail them out of jail, but Luke refused to go with them. Summer stole the plans to a Cassadine estate in Russia. She met up with Luke there, but Lucky and Nikolas weren't far behind. Luke beat them to the tunnels in the estate where he discovered that the money had been replaced with worthless coins.
They returned to Port Charles. Summer admitted she loved Lucky and got a job as a waitress at Kelly's. She moved into the room across the hall from Lucky's. She went to Luke asking him to end the fight with Nikolas. Luke refused to end it. Summer went with Lucky to go see his mother, Laura. Summer knocked Luke out when she got caught in the middle of a fight between Luke and Lucky. Luke found out that they had hidden Laura away from him again. Luke was drunk and found Summer, he began talking to her lovingly thinking she was Laura. He pulled out a knife and said he would do anything to protect Laura. When Lucky arrived, Luke took off. Summer and Lucky tricked Luke into being committed to a mental institution.
At an engagement party for Nikolas and Emily Quartermaine, Summer was pushed from behind and fell from a cliff. Nikolas and Lucky rushed to the bottom of the cliff only to discover Summer dead. Lucky was devastated and wanted to find the killer. Luke was accused by Lucky as being the killer. The real killer had been Stefan Cassadine. Emily was the target but the assassin pushed the wrong person from the cliff. Stefan was arrested and tried for the murder but was found not guilty. Luke kidnapped Stefan and had a mock trial where he admitted what had happened. He broadcasted the trial on tv, so everyone in Port Charles was able to see it. Luke got revenge on Stefan when he found him hiding in the tunnels at Wyndemere. He stabbed him and he fell from the same cliff that Summer fell from.

Ever since Summer was killed off the show, portrayer Brittany Powell has said that she wanted to come back as Summer's sibling, or the like (Similar to the Alcazar change), however, 4 years later, it seems very unlikely.
