Sumi Helal

Dr. Abdelsalam (Sumi) Helal is an Egyptian computer scientist who was born in Suez in Egypt and graduated from the Alexandria University in 1982, best known for his work in Pervasive Computing, Mobile computing and Networking and Internet Computing. He is a Professor at the Computer and Information Science and Engineering Department (CISE) at the University of Florida. Also, he is the director of the Mobile and Pervasive Computing Laboratory in the University of Florida [1] and President and CEO of Phoneomena, Inc. and Pervasa, Inc.
Dr. Helal is editorial board member of the IEEE Pervasive Computing magazine[2]. He is the Editor of the magazine's column on Standards, Tools and Emerging Technologies. His published work exceeds 200 books, book chapters, journal articles, and conference or workshop papers.
