Sulfur reductase

In enzymology, a sulfur reductase (EC 1.97.1.3) is an enzyme that catalyzes the chemical reaction of reduction of elemental sulfur or polysulfide to hydrogen sulfide.
This enzyme belongs to the family of oxidoreductases. The systematic name of this enzyme class is (donor):sulfur oxidoreductase.
