Sulaiman Abdul Rahman Taib

Sulaiman Abdul Rahman Taib or YBhg. Dato Sulaiman Abdul Rahman Taib was born to Melanau father, Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, the current Sarawakian Chief Minister, and to an Australian mother of Polish-Russian descent, Puan Sri Laila Taib. Like the rest of his siblings and his father, he holds a Malaysian passport. He is currently a non-executive Director of CMSB (Cahaya Mata Sarawak Berhad) and is a San Franciscan graduate in Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He is currently working with his brother, Mahmud Abu Bekir Taib, brother-in-law Tuan Syed Ahmad Alwee Alsree and several other Board Directors of CMSB. Sulaiman is married to Anisa, who is the daughter of Sarawakian Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Dr George Chan, and American mother of Irish descent, Judy. The couple has three children.

During the last 12th Malaysian General Election held in March 2008, Sulaiman stood as a candidate in the Parlimentry seat previously held held by his father, Abdul Taib Mahmud and won under the present Malaysian ruling party National Front or 'Barisan Nasional'(BN) ticket.
