Suit of coins
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Suit of Coins is used in Latin suited playing cards which include tarot decks. It is part of what tarot card readers call the "Minor Arcana"
The Suit of Coins in the minor arcana tarot deck, also called Pentacles or Discs, are parallel to the suit of diamonds in conventional playing cards. They are connected to the classical element of Earth. The Suit of Coins is also used in Latin suited playing cards. Pentacles refer to material body or possessions. They are associated with the Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn signs of the Zodiac.
Physical characteristics associated with the suit of coins include dark hair and eyes, dark complexion, and sturdy build.
The four suits of minor arcana each contain fourteen cards: ace (one), two through ten, page, knight, queen, and king. The images depicted on the cards themselves usually contain one or more coin displaying a pentagram, or five pointed star.
