[edit] Biography

Suicide Silence was formed in late 2002, but didn't get serious until 2004 when the lineup started to solidify. The band signed to Century Media Records and finished recording their first full-length album entitled The Cleansing which was released on September 18, 2007. The album was recorded with producer John Travis (Static-X), while Tue Madsen (Himsa, The Haunted) handled mixing duties. The album debuted at number 94 on the Billboard 200[1], selling 7,250 copies the first week, and became the highest selling artist debut in Century Media history.[citation needed]

Prior to being signed to Century Media, the band had only come out with one studio-quality release, the Suicide Silence EP.[2][3] which was released in the U.K. by In At The Deep End Records (Architects, Gallows). And in the U.S. by ((SOS)) Records. The band has been added to the Mayhem festival set to take place this summer. They are currently touring the UK with Parkway Drive and Bury Your Dead, following a successful U.S. tour with the same bands.Suicide Silence will also be playing select dates on the Thrash and Burn tour, which will feature Darkest Hour, Parkway Drive, Misery Signals, Stick To Your Guns, Winds Of Plague, Arsonists Get All The Girls, Arsis, Light This City, As Blood Runs Black (on select dates), and Emmure (on select dates).
