i have already given the exact quote from page 35 which says absolutely nothing about Umar ordering an assassination on the talk page. page 78 similarly says nothing about Umar ordering an assassination, only that Umar had to "call upon God and rely upon the help of the jinn to get rid of his political enemy Sa'd b. Ubada...". that compounded with the quote from page 35 shows that he did not actively order or plan the assassination of Sa'd- only that this was done by the jinn and may have been politically beneficial for Umar (according to Madelung). in light of this please stop re-introducing such material until you have proven that the source says what you attribute to it. thank you. You need to find another source that is more explicit about it. I think A Restatement of the History of Islam and Muslims has a pasage about it, but i dont remeber were in the book it is, you can read it online. Tips from an experienced editor: Take it cool, think long term. As for Sa'd b. Ubada, unfortunately, Madelung is the only reference that I can think of in English, as Ali Razwy’s metions only that bin Ubdah died mysteriously on his way to Syria , still I have scores of Arabic references, but I do not think that this would be of any help, would it? --Suhrawardi 14:20, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
