[edit] Prior to his acting career
In middle school, he was an athlete good at 100m~200m short distance running. He won four gold medals in a variety of sports when he was 16 years old. He was excited that he was chosen to prepare for the national team. Unfortunately, in 1999, he had a car accident that he was hit by a taxi while he was crossing a street. He was sent to a hospital and stayed there for 6 months to receive medical treatments. During those 6 months, he went through frustrations and nightmares.
Then, his current manager saw Suh Ji Suk on the street and liked his refined appearance, which was his life’s turning-point. He had to choose acting as his career because he couldn’t reach the peak of running anymore. [4] [5]
