Hi Angelo - welcome the English wikipedia. I'm not sure if you are aware, but there is also a Sicilian wikipedia (I'm a bureaucrat on it). Salutamu e a prestu. πίππύ δ'Ω∑ - (waarom? jus'b'coz!) 04:44, 21 August 2006 (UTC) ps if I'm not mistaken there was an article in the most recent edition of Arba Sicula on the Siculo-American (and Australian) mutual aid societies.
[edit] Good Question
Thanks for the good question surrounding the History of NFL Championships article. I know it seems confusing when the issue comes up about the situation of titles surrounding the first four super bowls. Since during the first four super bowls, the leagues were divided into two, the Super Bowl or AFL-NFL World Championship Game as it was known for the first two years, the winning team essentially won bragging rights, a cool trophy, and called themseleves the World Champion. Record books and the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the Green Bay Packers website, and other sources state these facts, if the winning team won the NFL Championship and then the Super Bowl only the Super Bowl would be recognized as the team's championship that year. If the team lost the Super Bowl, then the official record books still record the NFL Championship as a league title. So in fact during those four years, there were two league champions, but only one world champion. That can be seen on the list toward the bottom of the screen. I believe that since the NFL name and history was retained and the AFL history added to it, this makes for a bit of confusing and termoil during the 60's and the NFL instead of discrediting all AFL reocrds and titles, it merged them into the NFL history books. This is why the league itself is divided into pre-merger and post-merger eras because essentially the league was reborn in 1970. Thanks for your question, and I understand your confusion as I myself do not understand the concept behind this. --Happyman22 14:29, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

- Hey thanks for the comments, and I'm sorry if it seemed like I disrespected the AFL. I have reworked that table a bit so if you would like to check it out and give some comments I would appreciate it. --Happyman22 04:49, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AFL draft
Hello, I noticed you are very interested in American Football League players and to modify the box if a player played for a team in the sixties and seventies (example: Emmitt Thomas, who played for the Kansas City Chiefs in the 60's in the AFL and 70's in the NFL). That's fine for me. But I will diasagree in respect to the AFL Draft. From 1967 through 1969 both leagues, the NFL and the AFL had the same Draft, so tt's uneccesary to change in the box "NFLDraft" to "AFLDraft", since both leagues had the same Draft.Gypaetus 01:13, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:1960Fleer96Lucas.png)
Thanks for uploading Image:1960Fleer96Lucas.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. [edit] Hey, you might be interested
I invite you to join the new American Football League project, which is meant to enhance all American Football League related articles. Please alert me if you are interested. Thanks Soxrock 18:26, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
Well, I know by now that you have vast knowledge of the AFL. An area that you could help in is, like you said, areas that would change wrong NFL records into AFL ones. It would help cleanup the place and it would be in your comfort zone. Really, though, do what you want. I'm focusing on creating player pages. Thanks for your participation! [edit] Sports cards
Hello - just wanted to let you know that per the guidelines laid out on Wikipedia:Non-free content, sports cards cannot be used in articles solely to illustrate the subject of the article. Only if the card itself is discussed in the article can a card image be used (and just adding a sentence or two to the image caption would not cut it). If you have any questions let me know. --cholmes75 (chit chat) 00:05, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Angelo Felice Coniglio article
I just stumbled across the article you created about yourself, Angelo Felice Coniglio. You may not be aware, but creating and/or editing a page about yourself, while not strictly forbidden, is strongly discouraged under the site's Conflict of interest guidelines. Please note that I am not suggesting that you do not merit an article on the site, given the press coverage you have received in the past for your AFL association does seem to meet Wikipedia's requirements for notability. If you have any questions on the COI policy please let me know. --cholmes75 (chit chat) 14:02, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:LH-Patch577w.png
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:LH-Patch577w.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 03:19, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use disputed for Image:ShawTheOtherLeague.png
Thanks for uploading Image:ShawTheOtherLeague.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. cholmes75 (chit chat) 16:33, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Common Draft in infoboxes
In the Jim Kiick and Larry Csonka articles, the infobox says "NFL Draft"; shouldn't it say "Common Draft," since they were drafted in 1968? I'd fix it myself but for fear of screwing it up. 65tosspowertrap 17:32, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:ChiefsMediaGuide700w.png
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:ChiefsMediaGuide700w.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
