Sue M. Cobb

Sue M. Cobb (born in 1937 in Los Angeles, CA) served as Secretary of State of Florida from 2005-2007. She also held the postion of U.S. Ambassador to Jamaica from 2001-2005. She was the first woman to be appointed to that position. She has served as Managing Director and General Counsel for Cobb Partners Inc., a private investment, venture capital, real estate and resort development company in Coral Gables, Florida.

Cobb received her undergraduate degree from Stanford University in 1959. After moving to Florida in 1972 she received her law degree from the University of Miami.

She has also authored a book, The Edge of Everest, which chronicles her 1988 attempt to be the first woman from the United States to reach the summit of Mount Everest.
