[edit] Sud-Est Armagnac
Another view of the Sud-Est Armagnac, a 1940s French airliner. This image was downloaded from the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS) web site in their 'history' section, and its use on Wikipedia is contended to be Fair Use under United States law.
- Purpose and Character: the use is to illustrate a free encyclopedia and thus is educational and non-profit in nature.
- Nature of the work: This image is simply a photographic record of an aircraft by its maker and was released as a publicity shot.
- Amount and substantiality: Whole of a single publicity shot but at low resolution, unsuitable for print media.
- Effect on work's value: Image is a contemporary (late 1940s) publicity shot distributed for publication. This picture was given away at no cost. Advertising image for the aircraft product pictured, which has not been sold for more than 50 years. The effect on the work's value is nil.
