Sucre, Sucre

Sucre is a town and municipality located in the Sucre Department, northern Colombia. Is located in the Subregion of the Mojana with the Munacipalities of Majagual and Guranda which conforms part of the so-called Moposine depresion, a geographical area characterized by being under sea-level and therefore prone to flooding.
Sucre was home of famous writer Gabriel García Márquez and one of his most known novels Chronicle of a Death Foretold is based on real life events occurred in the town.
