Because Wikipedia's inclusion guidelines are very clear about what merits its own separate article and what doesn't; Edgy Eft doesn't deserve its own separate article from Ubuntu any more than Dapper Drake or Breezy Badger (both of which are just redirects to Ubuntu (Linux distribution)) would. No other Linux distribution has separate articles for each individual release codename, either. A regularly scheduled upgrade release is not a new distribution that merits a separate article.
