Submarine Satellite Information Exchange Subsystem System
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Submarine Satellite Information Exchange Subsystem System (SSIXS) formerly used by the United States Navy as a means of passing record message traffic to submarines. Messages of importance to specific submarines were placed on a list called a ZBO (operational signal meaning "the following messages are of concern"). Submarines were accountable to have copies of all messages addressed to them that were on the ZBO for their assigned broadcast.
