Subhas Mukhopadhyay

Subhash Mukhopadhyay, born in 1919 and died in 2002, is a major Bengali poet of post Tagore era of Bengali literature. He was a member of the Communist Party of India in his youth and his poems motivated thousands of young revolutionaries. Later, he left the party and his poems changed. But his poems remained brilliant example of intense, anti-lyrical poetry portraying human crisis.
