The subdistrict (Chinese: 街道; Pinyin: Jiēdào) is one of the smallest political divisions of China. In general, urban areas are divided into subdistricts, and a subdistrict is divided into several communities or neighbourhoods (居民区,居住区,小区,社区).

The subdistrict's administrative agency is Subdistrict Office (街道办事处) jiēdàobànshìchù or simply 街道 jiēdào, or 街办 jiēbàn?, literally "street offices")
