[edit] Thanks

For blocking E4 ED, even though he only got 1 warning the re-direct he made to the FA on the main page i knew it was the serial page move vandal instead of all the wannabes who have been doing it. To tell you the truth that is getting annoying, every FA article on the main page re-directs to this nonsense. When is it going to stop? Thanks again Roadrunnerz45 (talk 2 me) 12:27, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

When he gets bored of it. The best thing to do is to WP:DENY recognition. :-) Stwalkerstertalk ] 12:30, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re: WP:ACC

I hereby confirm that I did indeed make the request, and have also applied for access to accounts-enwiki-l with emailuser verification. Should you need any further method of identity verification for approval, please leave me another message or send me an interwebmail. Thanks! haz (talk) 16:26, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Thank you very much!!

I am extremely sorry for not confirming the creation of the account. Yeah, I was the one who created it. And thank you very much for approving my request :-). Yeah, I'll surely contact you if I have any doubts about the tool. Again, thank you very much. -RavichandarMy coffee shop 01:06, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

ACtually, it was Alexfusco5 who approved it, I just notified. :-) Stwalkerstertalk ] 08:30, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] WP:HAU

Hello yet again. I regretfully inform you that the bot we were using to update the user status at Wikipedia:Highly Active Users, SoxBot V, was blocked for its constant updating. With this bot out of operation, a patch is in the works. Until that patch is reviewed and accepted by the developers, some options have been presented to use as workarounds: 1) Qui monobook (not available in Internet Explorer); 2) User:Hersfold/StatusTemplate; 3) Manually updating User:StatusBot/Status/USERNAME; or 4) Not worry about it and wait for the patch to go through, which hopefully won't take long. If you have another method, you can use that, too. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Useight (talk) 22:26, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] My help request

Thank you, that's wonderful. I am not all that active, more of a Wikipedia reader. Over the months I have read up on many policies and guidelines and am working my way through the Manual of Style, I either missed it or have not come across the page about table syntax so thanks for your help with the user boxes, seemed like a good way to let others know a bit about myself. :) --Aujourd'hui, maman est morte (talk) 13:16, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks!

Thanks for reverting the vandalism. I actually considered for a moment putting it back in, because the SPA vandal actually hit surprisingly close to the mark. Most of my friends will say that I am kind of a dick sometimes; and while I try to avoid the cops-and-robbers attitude that plagues some vandal patrollers, I do get a feeling of satisfaction when a report from me succeeds in stopping a rampant vandal. So yeah.. "I'm a dick who likes to report people." Guilty as charged!  :D

Anyway, thanks, I appreciate it :) --Jaysweet (talk) 13:16, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks for the barnstar!

[edit] Follow up to Wikidumb unblock request

Just wanted to point out that Wikidumb has "promise[d]" to be good like you suggested. I gave him the 2nd chance instructions. --Selket Talk 15:34, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] request undeletion

My article air logistics was deleted before I even had a chance to finish working on it (I labeled it as a stub and I was working on the formatting and collecting information.) Helipilot1 (talk) 15:42, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

It was deleted because it was an article about an a company, corporation, organization, or group, which did not assert the notability of the subject. If you wish, you can recreate the article in your userspace, and when it is ready, click the move tag at the top of that page to move it into the main article space. If you need any more help, feel free to ask me here again, (remember that new messages go at the bottom of a talk page), ask on the help desk, or type {{helpme}} on your talk page. :-) Stwalkerstertalk ] 15:49, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] AIM25

AIM25
Hi, Back in April AIM25 page was deleted '22:29, 1 April 2008 Stwalkerster (Talk | contribs) deleted "AIM25" ‎ (G11: Blatant advertising)'. Can this page be reistated so that appropriate editing can be undertaken?
Thanks, Aim2 (talk) 15:50, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

I deleted that because it was blatant advertising that would require a fundamental rewrite to become encyclopedic. If you wish to make an encyclopedic article there, just go ahead and recreate it. :-) Stwalkerstertalk ] 15:56, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Sorry

I meant to drop and hit the wrong one. I also apologized to the user who deferred it. I thought it was a false email because I could not find pgatourhq.com. Rgoodermote  17:27, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks, but i have a question..

Thanks for un-blocking me! but i need to find out how to change my password.. can ya help ?? thanks again Dalemurph (talk) 10:55, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Go to Special:Preferences, and you can change your password under the "Change Password" heading. :-) Stwalkerstertalk ] 16:14, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Hello again

Hello, I requested your assistance yesterday and wondered if you may be able to answer another question today. I would like to write an article about a 2001 report released by Human Rights Watch titled "No Escape: Male Rape in U.S. Prisons". The report led directly to the Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003 in the United States. Do you think an article on this topic might get deleted? It also made the front page of the New York Times in 2001. --Aujourd'hui, maman est morte (talk) 15:14, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

If it is well sourced, and meets the notability, and verifiability criteria, and is generally encyclopedic with good references, I see no reason why it should be deleted. :-) Stwalkerstertalk ] 16:13, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] re Pro choice ip vandal report to AIV

You seemed to have misplaced a number, as that account has never edited WP. I went to the article and found the disruptive account and blocked it for 31 hours - but not before I removed the reported account from AIV and left a (with hindsight) foolish good faith comment. LessHeard vanU (talk) 15:48, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Hardblocks

Hi Stwalkerster. You might want to hardblock those proxies, and not just block their use by unregistered users, as they are used extensively by vandals like Grawp, Runtshit, Jvolkblum, Bonaparte, and many many others. There is also less reason to softblock them with WP:IPBE around. Thanks. -- zzuuzz (talk) 22:36, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

Good point. I'll shoot down the list again tomorrow (I'm about to go to bed), and hardblock them. Btw - I thought you said you wern't following me around? :P The list of ones I've found is here, if you want to block some / hardblock some. Just make sure you mark it as done :-) Stwalkerstertalk ] 22:54, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

Man, looks like they got me. I kept looking at that request thinking something was wrong. I read the username policy hoping I could deny based on excessive length, when I couldnt find a rule to block the request, I approved it. Thanks for letting me know!--Finalnight (talk) 22:26, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Margham desert.jpg

FYI, I saw you removed the {{db-i3}} tag from the above image...I was sure I checked the Flickr source and it had an improper license for Wikipedia. Did I miss something? Kelly hi! 18:11, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

No, you didn't miss something. I did. :P I think it's time I went fishing again.... :-) Stwalkerstertalk ] 18:16, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
Since you fixed it so quickly, I think instead of a trout you might deserve a teeny tiny minnow. :) Thanks - Kelly hi! 18:20, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Margham desert.jpg

Stwalkerster, when I uploaded this image, it was in fact cc-attrib 2.5; not nd. It has obviously been changed now. Of course, I have no way of proving this. I've gone back to Archive.org to try and dig up the image's previous licensing, but no previous instance of the image has been archived. What rules govern changes to licensing tags to images that have previously been tagged as cc-attrib or cc-sa? I remember reading somewhere that images that been tagged as free, cc-attrib or cc-attrib-sa couldn't then be subsequently be switched to a non-free license. Can you clarify? Thanks AreJay (talk) 18:27, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

I believe you. I'm not entirely sure of the situation regarding switching from free to non-free licences, but, like you I don't think it can be done. Unfortunately, as it stands, the pic on flikr is cc-by-nd, and I have no way of proving that it was cc-by before. If you can find some evidence, and are sure about it, feel free to ask another admin to undelete - but I don't want to do it myself as I'm unsure of the switch-back circumstances. If undeleted, it would be worth tagging the image as having been released as cc-by earlier, and was switched, but unfortunately we need evidence to support this. I'm really sorry about this, and I hope it's resolved quickly. :-) Stwalkerstertalk ] 18:49, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
I'll help the user, but this situation has come up before. Basically, the situation is that we can't keep it if we have no proof of the old license. This is why Commons has a Flickr license verification scheme using a system of trusted reviewers. I'm currently in the middle of a personal project to move all en Wikipedia Flickr images to Commons precisely to protect them from deletion due to license changes; that's how I happened to run across this image. Kelly hi! 21:20, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
OK, rather you than me :P I just am not overly sure about image licences, but I know enough to know what can and can't be deleted :-) Stwalkerstertalk ] 21:30, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Auto Archive

Older than 14 days like yours is fine with me. I made a page for 2008 and i've got content on my 2007 page since its already archived. Thanks for your help. ---Brian Alexander (talk) 20:43, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for helping me with it. Is there a way I can get the template like you have at the very top of your page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bfalexander (talkcontribs) 23:45, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
Where do my archived entries go? I can tell it worked because when i looked at my talk page today some of the posts had been taken off. ---Brian Alexander (talk) 16:51, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
