From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions to the The Beeps article, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

Feel free to re-submit a new version of the article. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later."

You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here. You can also leave a message on my talk page. DS 14:17, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Words

The problem was, the text was much too similar to the way the Beeps were described on TVThrong.co.uk - I'd say it was >85% identical, which is much too much.

I'm not saying that there shouldn't be an article on the Beeps - they're shown on Milkshake! - just that you have to write it from scratch instead of copy-and-pasting. DS 14:25, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

For the explanation. The text was provided to me by the creator of The Beeps, Malou Bonicos. I can ask her to re-write, although she probably provided the same text to TVthrong in the first place.

Then don't. Write it yourself. DS 14:57, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
I gave it a go, it obviously needs more information of course. Stuart 11:43, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
