HI, im Stu, all I can say is goto [www.blackflash.co.nr], and read my blog.

Below is a card game, which you may find VERY interesting This game is basically a war with a deck of cards, it uses tactics and skill, with a bit of luck. Only a year old (since 2005), this game is great fun, and highly addictive, and simple once you grasp the rules. Give it a couple of goes.

[edit] The Cards and Deal

Generals is played with a standard deck of 52 cards, and 2-4 jokers. When playing with 10+ it might be good to use 2+ decks, although the game will move very slow with this number.

The cards are as follows, Diamonds are Planes, Clubs are Tanks, Spades are Infantry, Hearts are Defence, and Jokers are Suicide Bombers. The numbers relate to the value of the cards, but the picture cards have different value. Jacks are 14, Queens are 15, Kings are 16, and Aces are 20.

Planes have an advantage over Tanks, Tanks have an advantage over Infantry, Infantry have an advantage over Planes. Defence has no advantage over anything, and nothing has an advantage over it.

Each player is dealt 4 cards. Different variations may deal more. The deck is put to the center of the table.

[edit] The Play

The object of the game is to be the last one with any cards. This is done by attacking other people with you cards, and winning battles.

At the start of the game once the players have there cards, the person to the left of the dealer goes first. They must declare an attack on a player. This is done by chosing one of there cards, and placing it face down. Only Planes, Tanks, and Infantry can be played when attacking someone else. A Suicide Bomber can be played, but I will get into that later. Once a card is face down, the player must declare who they are attacking. The person they are attacking must place down a card to fight out the battle. They can put down anything, Plane, Tank, Infantry, Defence and Suicide Bombers. The card they place should be face up, then the attacking card is turned over. When a card has an advantage over another card the value is doubled. So, for example, a 10 Plane is going against a King Tank, the king has a value of 16, however the value of 10 for the plane is doubled as planes have an advantage over tanks, so its new value is 20, this beats the tanks. Deciding the winner is easy, either its the highest value, or if it is a draw, it is whoever was defending. The winner returns their card to their hand, the looser however looses his/her card, and it is put to the bottom of the deck.

If a suicide bomber (joker) is played in the defence, both cards, the attacking card and the Suicide bomber go to the bottom of the deck. As both would be destroyed.

After this battle, it is the next player's (moving in a clockwise direction) turn. They must attack someone. This repeats until all players have attack someone. When you have no cards left, you are out. The round then ends. At the end of the round, everyone still with cards, draws a new one from the deck. Anew round begins and the attacks are repeated.

If the suicide bomber (joker) is played as an attacking card, then the attacker may chose one of the defenders cards at random. The defender and other players are not allowed to shuffle their hands in the turn the suicide bomber (joker) has been placed. This is so if the attacker with the joker, notices where the card they want to destroy has gone, they can follow it, and choose it. This chosen card and the Suicide bomber (joker) are destroyed and sent to the bottom of the deck.

As well as playing just 1 card, you can play up to 3. But these cards must be in the same suit, and in a run (eg 5,6,7). If a joker is played in defence for these cards, all are destroyed. Also if these cards loose a battle, they all go out. The value of these cards is them all added together. Ace does not count as a 1. You can connect Jacks and 10's, Kings and Aces, even though the value of these cards in this game are different.
