Re: the following excerpt:

some have claimed that the films' mot remarkable special effect is British actor Hugh Laurie's convincing American accent.

This is objectionable for two reasons.

First, it is weaselly.

Second, I can't agree that there is anything at all remarkable about British (or Irish, Australian, South African etc.) actors being able to do convincing American accents. Consider very briefly Kenneth Branagh in Dead Again, Russell Crowe and Guy Pearce in L.A. Confidential, Cate Blanchett in Bandits, Liam Neeson in Darkman, Daniel Day-Lewis in Gangs of New York, Judy Davis in The Ref, Charlize Theron in The Devil's Advocate (this was before she decided to just talk in an American accent all the time) and Nicole Kidman in a couple of dozen movies.

So I am removing it.
