The stuttgart metropolitan region is a metropolitan area of Germany consisting of the cities of Stuttgart, Heilbronn, Tübingen/Reutlingen. These cities are arranged into three agglomeration areas. The population of the area is about 3,490,000. This area covers an area of ca 15000 km².
The stuttgart metropolitan area is roughly 600 km east of Paris, the capital city of France, and about 200 km south of Frankfurt.
