"Stutter" is a 2000 song by American R&B singer Joe. The original version of the song was produced by Roy "Royalty" Hamilton & Teddy Riley. Written by Roy "Royalty" Hamilton. A remix by Soulstar features rapper Mystikal, and was a number-one hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States for four weeks in 2001. The song refers to Joe's girlfriend "stuttering" because she is lying to him about having an affair. The song samples music from the song "Passin' Me By" by The Pharcyde, and Jimi Hendrix's "If 6 Was 9" . The song was featured in the 2001 Motion Picture Double Take.
