"Stuck in My Throat" is the fourth single by Surrey-based rock band Reuben, and the first to be taken from the album Racecar Is Racecar Backwards. It was recorded at Stakeout Studios in Chobham where the band recorded the album with Jason Wilcock. It was released in October 2003 on the Xtra mile/Integrity label, home to Million Dead, on CD and 7" vinyl, a first for the band. It received positive reviews and reached #76 in the UK chart. Zane Lowe made it his Radio 1 single of the week, but XFM said that it was 'too heavy' to play.

[edit] Trivia
(From the band's site)
- The title track was the first of several new songs the band had written for the album in the gap between tours. "No One Wins the War" was also considered for the first single off the album. The version of the song that appears on the single was actually recorded two weeks before the band started making their album. There had been delays in delivery of the microphones originally bought for the studio to record with, but release deadlines for the single had to be met so in the time they had they recorded the title track and b-side Doll Fin with the mics already present and spent the next week making it sound as good as possible.
- Scared of the Police (Live for XFM) A faster version of the band's first single, recorded at their XFM sponsored show at the Barfly in London with Harpies. This is the first live recording to be officially released by the band.
- It had been intended that a different version of Doll Fin with a comedic metal guitar solo would be used on the b-side of the vinyl release, but a mistake at the record company meant it was not included. The song includes the quote 'you're kitten as a cat' from 'Love Cats' by The Cure.
- The band wanted 'What's good for me', an acoustic track with just vocals and guitar to be included as the second b-side, but the label disagreed and they instead opted for the live version of Scared Of The Police that appeared instead.
- A mistake by the label meant that the inlay of the single, which was meant to feature the original photo of Guy and the lyrics to all three songs was left blank.
- The band wear white contact lenses in the video for the song, but none of them had worn them before so they enlisted the help of a friend to assist them in getting them in and out of their eyes.
- The video is shot in a large storage shed next to the studio where the album was recorded. It was being used to store a number of large items, but had to be completely cleared for the video. Amongst the items removed were a three piece suite, a boat, and a caravan.
