Stu Mead (b. 1955 in Iowa) is an American painter living in Germany. He is primarily-known for girl art incorporating strong elements of sexual fantasy and taboo themes, including adolescent sexuality and shit. His work could be said to exist somewhere between Balthus and good-girl artist Bill Ward. His paintings were the subject of The Late Great Aesthetic Taboos [1], an essay included as part of Apocalypse Culture II the controversial anthology published by Feral House.
