[edit] Barnstar
The Working Man's Barnstar | ||
I, Chrisjnelson, award this barnstar to Street20 for working taking on the very boring task of fixing all the disambiguation links for NFL players. We all kept putting it off, so thanks for taking some initiative and getting it done. This is also for all the other work you do on MLB and NFL roster templates, including the mass removal of flags from the former.►Chris NelsonHolla! 07:24, 4 January 2008 (UTC) |
[edit] Removal of the flags
I see that you're removing the flags from the MLB rosters as per the Manual of Style. Because of that, I made a new template, template:MLBplayer, similar to template:player that was being used before. I think that will make it quite a bit easier to standardize everything and it makes it look a bit neater when you go to edit it. --Rabbethan 07:33, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for creating that -Street20 07:43, 05 January 2007 (UTC)
I finished updating all the MLB Rosters to nix flags last night, plus putting the new template on the ones you had already done without it. --Rabbethan 09:29, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Bill Moore (disambiguation)
A couple of quick questions about the changes you made to Bill Moore (disambiguation). First, baseball-reference shows three different Bill Moore's in baseball [1], but instead of adding the third, you replaced one with a different one. Was there a reason for that?
Also, you changed the names of the (non-existant) articles. Could you explain why you did that? I want to make sure I'm naming articles correctly. I had thought that we were using the conventions here, which is how the articles were listed on the disambig page.
Thanks! --Fabrictramp (talk) 19:30, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- I've noticed that the naming conventions have changed on its own since. That article hasn't been updated in a while. When I started changing pages, pages like the two Chris Young's only had their position. It didn't say something like 'Chris Young (baseball pitcher)' or 'Chris Young (baseball outfielder)'. I also follow the example given by the American football articles. That naming conventions article needs to be updated... -Street20 23:05, 06 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Edit summaries for roster templates
Hey man, can you do me a favor when you're editing roster templates and always put the names of the players involved in the transaction in the edit summaries like I do? Or at least the last names, like "Smith, Jackson, Thomas signed" or something like that. I ask because sometimes I go to the history page to try and find a transaction, or maybe look back for a guy's number if he's been on a team previously, and it's easier to find it if I can press CTRL+F and type the guy's name. Thanks.►Chris NelsonHolla! 08:54, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
I thought I did always put the full names? But I think for the Spring Training non-roster invitees, there were too much so I didn't put the names in but from now on if there are too much I will just put the first initial and their last name. -Street20 17:21, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
- I wasn't saying you did or didn't do it, I was just letting you know my preference because I let Pats1 know too. I was talking more about the NFL templates anyway. But yeah, I wasn't saying you haven't been doing it (I can't remember and I haven't looked) but I was just asking you to do it in the future if you weren't already.►Chris NelsonHolla! 17:51, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Anthony Arline
I noticed you created this article a while back. I wanted to let you know that I intentionally left this article uncreated because the guy did not report to camp as an undrafted rookie and there's no indication he'll ever return. Like Marion Dukes with Miami (which I created but probably should not have) these guys are not notable enough and it doesn't look like they ever will be. Just letting you know my position on that for future instances, and I wanted to let you know that I'll probably look to get such articles deleted if they fail to report in 2008. Later.►Chris NelsonHolla! 23:57, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Josh Towers
His own site here even lists him on the team.
[edit] Something's wrong here!
I am only making changes that come straight from the web and FROM WIKIPEDIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stop changing obvious stuff.
- Some of the stuff that you edit is wrong.
- Let me just give some examples: You made an edit to Manny Ramírez which said that he was born in the Bronx when he was actually born in the Dominican Republic, which I reverted as vandalism. In the case of Josh Towers, he has not finalized his contract and the only things that we put in the roster templates are official. Not finalizing his contract is not official. In the case of adding numbers, you kept saying that Guillermo Mota was going to be #53, turns out he took #58. Other examples include saying that Geoff Geary was going to take #56 when he took #29 and José Castillo taking number #15 when he took #13. Some other edits that you do, like to the Houston Astros, Philadelphia Phillies, and Tampa Bay Rays roster templates, is to delete the space between players who go by their initials, for example J. R. Towles. You would constantly change J. R. Towles into J.R. Towles and we would constantly change it back yet you insisted on reverting our edits back. In the case of infoboxes, you kept adding multiple positions so you would make the link invalid, which is why we added another part to the infobox so you can put in multiple positions without having any problems. Yet after we did this, you still added multiple positions to 'position' after you already learned that we added the 'positionplain' section to the infobox. I also just reverted your edit that you made to Template:Kansas City Royals roster in which you put Billy Butler as a designated hitter yet you should of have already learned that we strictly follow MLB.com when it comes to players positions. This is why when you put Ryan Braun in the list of outfielders in Template:Milwaukee Brewers roster, it was reverted. Other stuff that you do was to constantly change the colors in the roster templates even after we told you not to do it. The colors have already been established and there is no reason for you to change it. -Street20 22:29, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Questions
For Josh Towers, it said a long time ago ON HIS WIKIPEDIA SITE, that he is with the Rockies. Why would that be there if its not official? I have noticed others do bad stuff too, such as someone several months ago making Doug Mientkiewicz on the Giants, which I reverted. Why the space for initials? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dshibshm (talk • contribs) 01:42, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Also
On some pages, such as "Jose Castillo", it had him listed as No. 15 on his wiki site, which is why I changed it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dshibshm (talk • contribs) 01:45, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
That's because no one bothered to change it when they became free agents. -Street20 04:17, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] I also noticed
When someone puts a player's number, it is obvious that a coach there already wears it, yet no one corrects that, which I did. For example, Houston listed BOTH Mark Loretta and a coach with #6. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dshibshm (talk • contribs) 01:47, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Category: Tacoma Rainiers players
I am putting players who have played for Tacoma in that category, but I am not sure about something and wanted to ask you if I should put major league players on this list if they were just rehabbing from injuries. Jackal4 (talk) 19:09, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
- They still played for the team so I guess it still counts. --Street20 (talk) 22:21, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
-
- I believe it should count. Anyone that suited up and played for a team should qualify.►Chris NelsonHolla! 22:25, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
- alright, thanks. Jackal4 (talk) 00:20, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
-
- I'm about halfway through it and i am going off the all-time roster on the rainiers official website, which has players on it who played for them when they were the tacoma giants and other names. i've been putting them in the category, but now i'm wondering if i should continue with that or if there should be a separate category for tacoma giants, tacoma cubs players, etc. --Jackal4 (talk) 23:50, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Recent MLB Infobox edits
can you explain to me why you are adding there minor league years in the infobox and seperating everything--Yankees10 22:00, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
- If you look at Chrisjnelsons talk page, you'll see a long discussion about this. I think its for the best to show all the teams in the infobox. I'm hoping you'd agree with me. --Street20 (talk) 22:03, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
oh I havnt seen that, you should really bring it to Wikipedia:WikiProject Baseball though because this is a pretty big change, there should be more opinions than just 2 or 3 users before we change anything, I happen to actually not like this idea, because when you sign a minor league deal your not under contract with that team, your under contract with the minor league team.--Yankees10 22:09, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

- I still dont like the idea, but thats my opinion, I still think you should bring it to Wikipedia:WikiProject Baseball--Yankees10 22:22, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Free agency edits
Hey man, would you like to help me with a little project of mine leading up to free agency? We need to change all the player infoboxes of the upcoming unrestricted free agents. Basically, we have to change the team field to "Free Agent", the number field to "--", end the tenures in their list of past teams, and update the first sentence of their article to say they are a free agent.
I'd like to get these done before February 29 - the start of free agency. So what we need to do is go through the roster templates and do this for all the unrestricted free agents only. We can leave the RFAs and ERFAs alone because their teams do have some say in whether they go elsewhere, so Pats and I are gonna leave them on the templates. But how about you take one conference and I'll take the other and we'll do like I said?►Chris NelsonHolla! 17:54, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
- I'll probably start going down the list today, beginning with Buffalo and the AFC. So if you're in I guess you can take the NFC.►Chris NelsonHolla! 17:56, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Notations for offseason signings
Hey Street, I wanted to talk to you about something we've both been doing but I think we ought not do. We've both been putting the asterisk in a guy's infobox when he signed with a new team: (2008-present)*. I think we should just leave the asterisks off at this point and leave the note about offseason/practice squad member only off as well. (Unless it was there for a previous stint with another team.) My thinking is, if we add them to EVERYONE that's signed this offseason, we'll have to manually remove them all once the season begins if they make the teams. But if we leave them off now, we can add them later if and when they get cut before the season. You know what I'm saying? Plus, (2008-present) in an infobox implies offseason member only because there's been nothing but the offseason in 2008. What do you think?►Chris NelsonHolla! 23:07, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
- Yes definitely leave off the asterisk. It will be annoying once the season begins to remove every asterisk and note for players that made the team. --Street20 (talk) 23:10, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
-
- Yeah exactly. This way, since you and I practically always update the infobox for a player involved in a transaction, we'll never have to do that but we'll always be able to add them later if necessary.►Chris NelsonHolla! 23:13, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Sean Casey
Hi. It seems we have a disagreement over how Casey's nickname was used. Your contention appears to be that "The Mayor" originated in Cincy, which is true. However, the nickname was picked up again when he was signed by the Tigers (read the article talk page), and his contribution to the team, which went to the World Series, helped it catch on with Detroit fans. I'm not sure if it was used in Pittsburgh, but I know he wasn't in Pittsburgh long enough for it to catch on. As of now, the article is not written to reflect that the nickname ORIGINATED in Cincinnati. If that's your intention, please rewrite it and make it so, and I can always figure out a way to work it into the part of the article that describes his play with Detroit. I think we can figure something out and make everyone happy. Last thing we need is an edit war. I think we're better off assuming good intentions. What do you think? [edit] MLB transactions
Hey man, I know you follow MLB transactions around here as much as anyone, so I wanted to get your input on something. I do rosters for the MLB 2K games on the Xbox 360. I think a do a pretty good job and it's fairly easy staying on top of MLB transactions. Traditionally, I use ESPN.com, MLB.com, CBS Sportsline, and KFFL for transactions. Got any other good ones you know of?
Also, and more importantly, this year's game is going to have A, AA and AAA teams. This is going to be a bitch to correct, but I'm going to work on it. Do you know any place that is reliable for minor league transactions? It's going to be near-impossible to keep accurate if I can't find a good site for that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.►Chris NelsonHolla! 06:22, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
- milb.com transactions are generally reliable. They don't have all but they usually will. It is easy to keep track of players on the 40-man roster but yes, the minor leaguers are a real bitch. What I do is I mark them all down and then from time to time I check on them to make sure the milb.com transactions didn't miss any. This site also has a ton of transactions: [2]. I'm not really sure if it is reliable since I only just discovered it in the offseason. --Street20 (talk) 06:29, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
-
- Am I retarded? Is there an milb.com transaction page I'm missing? Or do you just mean news releases?►Chris NelsonHolla! 06:37, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
-
-
- You have to go to each seperate league like International League and Pacific Coast League. To get Pacific Coast League transactions, go to the Sacramento River Cats page (or any other Pacific Coast League team page that has a sidebar) and click 'League Transactions'. That will bring up a list of Pacific Coast League transactions. They don't record transactions during the offseason though. --Street20 (talk) 06:40, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Idea
I want to know what you think about an idea I have. You know how the NFL has Template:NFLStartingQuarterbacks which shows each starting quarterback for each week, I was wondering what you thought about creating one for each baseball position--Yankees10 01:22, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
- And updated it what, daily?►Chris NelsonHolla! 01:23, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
-
- I dont know, I would probably say every week, lets see what Street20 thinks--Yankees10 01:26, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
they do that with the football ones though also, if a quarterback is named starter during the week people change it then, so we can leave a message like the football ones have--Yankees10 01:34, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
- yeah because guys are getting days off all the time, so it would be pointless to change it that day just because a guy didnt play in the game--Yankees10 01:56, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
yeah I think we should replace them, and for the pitchers I think we should only have the closers and aces--Yankees10 02:03, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
So Do you think we should make these--Yankees10 02:15, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] David Pauley revert
Hi, reference your revert of my edits on the David Pauley page, I was confused about what (if any) was the policy about placing team/years served in the info box based on being on the DL or on the 40 man roster inn the minors, so I asked the question at the Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Baseball#Infoboxes. The response I received was "The current standard is to only list when he made an appearance for the team during the season, not the minors or DL". This seems to make sense to me as it would be difficult to go back and historically determine when players were / were not on the 40 man roster and this way would make all pages consistent. Cheers. Hardnfast (talk) 03:10, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
- I've been doing it that way for a while and there was no problem with it. --Street20 (talk) 05:01, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] PIT v. NYY on March 13, 2008
I am not sure if I totally agree with you because this game was historic but I will go along with your opinion for now. Thanks for your contributions. WestArmyComm (talk) 12:32, 16 March 2008 (UTC)WestArmyComm
Hey Street20, somewhere in Byung-Hyun Kim's bio article the New York media's unfair reporting on him has to be addressed some way. Didn't you say that "spring training game recaps should not be included unless it has some significant importance with the player"? I used to think that some negative opinion on Kim around the New York area is due to his history with the Yankees. After I watched David Cone, Paul O'Neill, and Michael Kay completely fabricated false stories on Kim's past statistics (or, if not intentionally fabricated, then they did not check Kim's 2002-03 stats) on the air during this game, I realized that the New York media is also feeding completely false information on Kim to their audience to further portray him negatively. This is a serious media-ethics issue, not a spring training recap. Fighting against the biased media should be a 24/7 job and just because they said false stories during the spring training doesn't give them a break. And because of all the hype stirred by Billy Crystal, more audiences heard their false comments on Kim during this game than other low-key ST games. A baseball reporter covering one of the teams Kim played for told me that Kim is a fascinating guy who is often not accurately portrayed by the media. I take this media-ethics issue seriously and I hope you do also. Many thanks. WestArmyComm (talk) 11:14, 18 March 2008 (UTC)WestArmyComm

[edit] Breslow
The article that was used as a footnote indicated it was in fact outright waivers.--Ethelh (talk) 03:01, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
- Then please explain why Breslow is on the Indians 40-man roster. --Street20 (talk) 23:43, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
There are now two article that state quite clearly that he was claimed off outright waivers. I cited to them. If you think they are wrong, find a contrary citation. Do not delete a properly sourced entry.--Ethelh (talk) 00:41, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- I'll keep removing it until you explain to me why he is still on the 40-man roster. If it really was outright waivers, he wouldn't still be on the 40-man roster. --Street20 (talk) 00:48, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
All I have to explain to you is that I now have three good sources, including the official major league baseball site, all footnotes, supporting the entry. If you believe they are wrong, write them. But stop deleting the good entry. If you like, involve others to weigh in. But please stop edit warring.--Ethelh (talk) 00:54, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- They are obviously wrong so why are you insisiting that he is no longer on the 40-man roster? --Street20 (talk) 00:55, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
I do not know that they are obviously wrong. What I know is that mlb.com is the most reliable source for this. And it clearly states it. According to Wikipedia:Verifiability, "The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth. "Verifiable" in this context means that readers should be able to check that material added to Wikipedia has already been published by a reliable source." Please restore the entry that you have deleted multiple times now -- this is edit warring.--Ethelh (talk) 01:04, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- And if I gave a source that says he was claimed off waivers and not outright waivers? This is then just going to go back and forth. --Street20 (talk) 01:06, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
You won't find a source saying that he was not claimed off of outright waivers; the most you would find is a source that says that he was claimed off of waivers, without identifying whether it was outright waivers -- a subset of waivers. Plus, mlb is the best source you will find, as it is the official baseball site.--Ethelh (talk) 02:06, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] MLB player infobox
Hello. The instructions for using Template:Infobox MLB player say that we should select statistics based on "what the player is most well-known for." I would venture to say that Brian Roberts, a player who averages 1 home run every 62.5 at bats, is not too well-known for his home run hitting ability. Looking at his biography, he has been in the AL season top 10 in batting average (already there), OBP, OPS, doubles, triples, walks, stolen bases (already there), and a bunch of other stats that don't really say very much, like at-bats and caught stealing. Out of the first list of statistics I mentioned, I felt that for a career leadoff hitter, it's probably OBP that matters the most. That said, is there any particular reason you would insist on having HR and RBI in the template for this player? ugen64 (talk) 23:30, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] re: edit summary at Mike Piazza
Hellooo Street20!
I just caught an edit of yours that came floating across my watchlist .... I see that you reverted an edit to this article, and I am fully cool with that. I had to double check myself to see that Mike Piazza still isn't signed.
But, I wouldn't necessarily have labeled the edit you reverted as "vandalism". I could have been, but given that Piazza did wear #31, it could also have been a well intentioned error. I'm not here to lecturer you or anything, but I know some people see their edit labeled as "vandalism", when that wasn't their intention, and the next thing you know, there's a lot of harsh language being thrown around. If I could suggest from my own missteps in the past: label it a "good faith" edit when you revert it, and any doubt may exist. Its just my 2 cents, and nothing more. I'm sure you're as excited as I am that Opening Day is finally upon us. Happy editing! LonelyBeacon (talk) 05:04, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
- That user is always doing that no matter how many times I and other users revert it. Now, I just refer to it as vandalism since he never stops. --Street20 (talk) 05:28, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] NO Rhyme or Reason to your editing and/or undos
There seems to be NO Rhyme or Reason to your editing and/or undos. First, you edit that Nelson Cruz is DFA (off team) when in fact he has NOT been put on DFA officially by the team (yes...talking about it but NOT official). I asked you a question about this earliar not wanting to undo the edit if it was official.....NOT. Second, I put Adam Melhuse on the 40 man roster since the Manager Ron Washington stated he's his backup catcher and you undo my edit. Is it official? NO...No transaction has been listed. Is Nelson Cruz officially off team? NO...No transaction has been listed. I quess if you have the OFFICIAL UNDO/EDIT BUTTON you can make up your own rules. What am I to think!?!? Phillies1964 (talk) 16:27, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
- READ THIS: [3] I also heard that Franklyn German will make the team. But they can't put both Melhuse and German on the 40-man roster yet or it will bring them over 40 players. So don't do anything yet until they make an official announcement. --Street20 (talk) 16:30, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
Yeah! Are you thick......Melhuse is NOT on 40 man roster ok ok. and alot of moves are going to happen soon (eg. German). In fact, as an example I jumped the gun on Tejeda being out-righted. It is NOT official nor is Littleton being optioned as I edited earliar. I don't intend to add to the 40 man roster since someone will have to be removed. My point is why does Nelson Cruz who still appears on the active roster and 40 man roster for Texas and you arbitrarily take him off the list. I ask you again where is the Rhyme or Reason to your editing and/or undos? I've explained that my action was incorrect but please explain your actions (referring to Nelson Cruz). Is my original thesis in play or not.."I quess if you have the OFFICIAL UNDO/EDIT BUTTON you can make up your own rules"??? It seems your attitude is if I (Street20) say something is so..don't question me. What gives? Phillies1964 (talk) 17:29, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi Street ... I know that you're one of the primary editors of the MLB roster template pages. How does one change the "update date" on the new pages? Am I missing something or does that text not appear when editing the page? Thanks. --Sanfranman59 (talk) 00:35, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
-
- Nevermind. I found it. I was asking about how to change the "Roster updated" date in the lower left of the roster pages. It's now at the top of the template under where the colors are defined. I missed it when I looked. Thanks. --Sanfranman59 (talk) 16:04, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Reds #41
Do you have a source it was retired?►Chris NelsonHolla! 04:06, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
Yeah: [4] --Street20 (talk) 04:11, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
- As I suspected, the source was wrong. Affeldt wore #41 tonight as he picked up the W against the Diamondbacks.►Chris NelsonHolla! 04:40, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Wrong date
It was the wrong date on purpose, it's how we always make null edits.►Chris NelsonHolla! 17:19, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] MLB infoboxes
Street, I really think that players that have not played in a game yet for a team shouldn't have that distinction in the infobox (in the "Teams" section). I say this because players past teams are only listed if they play in a game for them. Say Vance Wilson never plays in a game this year. If that's the case, then someone has to go back and remove the "2008-present" line. The way it's being done now is inconsistent with itself. Please don't use the "that's how we do it" reason. How is anybody supposed to know "how it's done" if it isn't documented anywhere? The {{Infobox MLB player}} template says nothing about what is supposed to be in the "Teams" section.
Like I've said before (I think); I don't want the baseball articles to become what the football player articles have been. That is, a highly-edited-by-one-or-two-users debacle where even the most minor "inconsistency" with the undocumented "standard" is reverted and many times labeled as vandalism. It's not the worst thing in the world if 2 articles are not consistent stylistically.
At the very least, the infobox's documentation should list the "rules" that state the current year should only be added to players that are on the active roster, DL or restricted list. — X96lee15 (talk) 02:30, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- We just keep the present part because most of the time people who are on the DL or restricted list or suspended list will return. To say that Cruceta will not even play this season at all is your own opinion (unless you have a source that definitely says he will not) violates what the crystal ball rule says. --Street20 (talk) 02:39, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
-
- I take offense to that comment about football articles. What has happened to them is a good thing and there's a lot more consistency there than there is in MLB ones. Consistency allow readers to find and understand information more easily.►Chris NelsonHolla! 02:57, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

- Street, I'm not saying that Cruceta won't play this year; in fact, he probably will. Nobody knows, so that's crystal balling in either direction. I'm saying that since he hasn't yet played a game in the Majors this year is why he shouldn't have the "2008-present" designation. However, I can understand and see your point of view. I'm just trying to get the "rules" down on paper so that there is a basis for using the infobox and reverting edits. — X96lee15 (talk) 03:24, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

- He should have it because he's on the roster. Doesn't matter if he's playing or not.►Chris NelsonHolla! 03:27, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

- He's not on the Active/25-man roster though. When Cruceta comes back to the US, he may not even be on the Active Roster, he could be sent to the minors. Current 40-man players in the minors don't have the "2008" indicator. That's where I'm coming from. I'm saying that anyone not on the 25-man roster (or the 40-man roster when they expand) shouldn't have "-present" in the infobox. — X96lee15 (talk) 03:41, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

- Agree wholeheartedly, that's why I say he shouldn't have "-present". But this is a minor issue to be debating and I've stated my case. I'd guess I'd just like {{Infobox MLB player}} to say what the "Teams" field should include. — X96lee15 (talk) 03:48, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Personally, I just think it's crazy to not count a DL guy or something as not being on the team in his infobox. Take Tanyon Sturtze and the Braves last season. I know for a fact Sturtze was freaking at the games, wearing his uniform and doing everything BUT pitching. But he WAS a member of the team, and I don't think you could find a Brave to disagree with that.►Chris NelsonHolla! 03:56, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- Well I wouldn't say he was at every game. He got released in August and pitched in 12 minor league games. --Street20 (talk) 04:08, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
-
- You're right, not every one because of the rehab starts. But he was certainly at most, as I was there for every home series and saw him a lot. Plus when guys like him make rehab starts, they often come back to the MLB team when not pitching and I know he did that. It's moot anyway.►Chris NelsonHolla! 04:24, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Colter Bean
After looking at the Colter Bean article, when a player is playing for the Triple-A Mexico League, is he still under contract with his MLB team and is just being loaned to that league or was he a free agent and signed a contract with the Triple-A Mexico League? Jackal4 (talk) 22:46, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
- He was a free agent before signing with a Mexican team. --Street20 (talk) 00:31, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Josh Beckett
Random, but I noticed you'd reverted one of my edits...and I could have sworn I was reverting the vandalism, not reverting the reverting of the vandalism. Wow, I need sleep. Sorry about that. Thanks for fixing it. Camanda (talk) 02:13, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
- No problem. I was wondering what you were doing. A lot of vandals just undo their own vandalism. --Street20 (talk) 02:23, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] New multi-link stats template for external links sections
Since you edit NFL player articles, I wanted to point out a template I've made to add multiple links to a football player's External links section. The info is located here. I'm planning on adding this to future pages I edit and I think it'd be great if we all do the same, as it'd cut down on the space in the ELs section spent on various site links. Thanks.►Chris NelsonHolla! 07:12, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Justin Masterson
I noticed that you added the red sox current roster template. Has Masterson reached his Major League Debut?--RyRy5 (talk) 04:13, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
- He's on the active roster now. What does it matter if he's made his major league debut or not? --Street20 (talk) 04:16, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Manny Acosta
Last night Acosta got his first major-league at bat, he batted left-handed. I cannot find a source, every site says he bats right-handed, which I know is not true. Is there anything I can do about changing it, or should it be left incorrect because the websites are incorrect. 68.60.31.51 (talk) 20:29, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedia:Templates for deletion/Log/2008 April 25
Hi Street20. I noticed you have edited many baseball articles. I created this template for the Giants 2002 World Series team and another editor is trying to have it deleted. I was hoping you could weigh in on the issue. Thanks.User:calbear22 (talk) 23:54, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks!!
Thanks for the personal attack on the Juan Castro page. It's ironic that you removed my "opinion" while giving your own. You probably didn't even notice how terribly ironic that was, though. Next time, leave your comments to yourself and just edit the article if you see fit. RiSK (talk) 03:08, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Revert
Why did you revert my edit of the Phillies template? If you look, the link is not sourced to properly link to the correct article. That's why it was changed. If the link is named "Joe Bisenius," and the article is titled "Joseph Bisenius," the template box will not highlight properly. There is a method to my madness, and I was just wondering if you could give me an explanation. Thanks. KV5 (talk) 03:51, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
