[edit] Article case sensitivity
Hi, Strannik, welcome to Wikipedia and thanks for your work on Marvel Age. You might want to know that articles titles (and links to them) on Wikipedia are case-sensitive, except for the first letter of the first word. Therefore "Runaways (Comics)" would not point to the same article as "Runaways (comics)" (the latter is correct). —Lowellian (talk)[[]] 12:55, Oct 27, 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Image for deletion
Hi Strannik, I put an image you uploaded, Image:Runpromo.jpg, up for deletion because I uploaded a better quality version of it as Image:Marvel_Runaways.jpg. Fritz S. 14:49, Mar 2, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Runaways
Is it really necessary to have every other word wikified in the parents' descriptions from the Runaways comic page? Or haven't you noticed the anonymous user who created the page has a tendency to wikify rather indiscriminately? "New Age", for example, is wikified twice in the same article. --Pc13 21:19, 7 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Well, maybe not every other word. I mean, I think common sense words such as "businesspeople" and "hollywood actors" can be safely dewikified. Terms like "New Age", which are less common and not nearly as self-explanitory as one might think, should stay wikified. Cultural references should definitely stay wikified.
P.S. Pardon my half-arsed spelling. As you probably noticed, it's not really my forte --Strannik 01:58, 8 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks for making the ROM-Turbo-Torpedo connection, which I was unaware of. However, the present ROM article makes no mention of Turbo or Torpedo (though this site lists Torpedo as "Rom's Greatest Ally"), and we currently lack an article for Turbo (comics). Do you think you could work on either or both of those, if you're fairly well-informed on the subjects? PS: as Runaways is an American comic, the American spelling of "armor" is appropriate (see WP style guide). -leigh (φθόγγος) 19:34, May 19, 2005 (UTC)
- Actually, I got that info from the site you mentioned. I stumbled upon it while searching for Turbo info. But, if you need to, I'd be more then happy to help you with the Turbo aticle. Actually, how about we call it Torpedo (comics, since much of the backstory took place before Mickey and her friend got the armor and used it to establish a Turbo identity. --Strannik 00:28, 22 May 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Disquiet (book)
Hello, fellow expat! I just wanted to ask if you've read the novel Disquiet by Strugatsky brothers? Because I have not, so I can write nothing about it... If you can write anything about it (even if that's gonna be a stub), do it please. That's the last article about the Noon Universe novels... --Koveras 13:17, 11 September 2005 (UTC)
- Not yet. But, since the thing is up in [Библиотеке Мошкова], I can read it now. I'll get back to you as soon as I'm done. --Strannik 16:18, 11 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Kirill Yeskov
Hi, Strannik, can you add more data on this guy's bio and/or books? Thanks, Ghirla | talk 13:33, 26 December 2005 (UTC)
- Nope. Sorry. I have no idea who that guy is. I can look it up, of course (knowing Russian helps ;) ) --Strannik 03:52, 28 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Wanted/Bomb Queen
Hello there. Just out of curiosity, do you have a source for the author claiming that the cover was not done with 'Wanted' in mind? Jayunderscorezero 10:30, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
- One of the Bomb Queen threads in the Shadowline sub-section of Image Comics official forum. He was discussing his own changes to Bomb Queen wikipedia article and mentioned, in the same breath, that Wikipedia was wrong in that regard. I'll look it up later today, when I don't have a class to rush to.--Strannik 14:58, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Grazhdansky Prospekt
Geevee (talk) 07:18, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- Виноват. Я только что сообразил что я перепутал банкоматы с автоматоми для продажи жетонов, которые, когда я был в Питере последний раз, действительно были редкостью. С тех пор правда многое изменилось. My apologies --Strannik 18:43, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- Извинения принимаются :) А если не секрет, когда вы были в Питере? Кстати, а сами вы откуда? Geevee (talk) 19:13, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Superpowers
Your information is great, but it really can't be written like a press release. (Phrase like "slated to appear," etc.). I'd like to recommend the more encyclopedic tone of the following:
- The publisher Dynamite Entertainment said in 2007 that Daredevil would be one several public domain Golden Age characters that would appear in the comic-book series Superpowers, by writer Jim Krueger and artist Alex Ross[1]
Thanks. --Tenebrae 01:26, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
- Fair enough.--Strannik 05:35, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
FYI: Superpowers (comics). Thanks for doing the spadework. If you are interested there are similar projects with public domain characters in the works: The Next Issue Project [1] and The Twelve [2] which look like they'll need some work tracking down the right characters, starting some entries to fill in gaps, etc. and some of the characters are the same so there is quite a bit of crossover. If you are interested. (Emperor 22:28, 7 August 2007 (UTC))
- Cheers. Good work. (Emperor 19:31, 12 August 2007 (UTC))
Not sure if you are interested but this might be up your alley [3]. It might be worth a few paragraphs on public domain characters and the re-appearance of them in different forms (with the sheer number of projects recently - I have another quote around somewhere on this last point) (Emperor 03:15, 24 August 2007 (UTC))
[edit] My apology
I'm sorry that I misconstrued your edits, which I must say read very hype-y and promotionally to me, as indicating that you were affiliated with the publisher of The Next Issue Project. I made an assumption, and, taking you at your word, I was wrong and I apologize. Thanks for being understanding and for communicating. --Tenebrae 23:58, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
- Apology accepted. Besides, I was a little pig-headed when it came to my edits. --Strannik 00:04, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Valilogo.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Valilogo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 12:50, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
