Was the '04 re-release the same track? Was it remixed in any way? There's no mention of it - oh, and where did it chart on the initial release?

The '04 release was the same track, but with different remixes and artwork. The original chart position was #25 (see the charts section). -- Underneath-it-All 19:09, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

As per Goldfrapp's official website, even though it was the same song it was treated as an additional single. I recommend Strict Machine 2004 getting its on wiki after the release of Black Cherry single and before Ooh La La.Justaduckyguy 09:21, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

"While receiving some well placed publicity in the Verizon Wireless commercial for the new LG Electronics Mobile Communications' "Chocolate" wireless phone, the song is clearly derivative of Donna Summer's disco-era hit I Feel Love. Strict Machine sounds like a stripped down version of the 1970's dance classic with slower tempo, and elevated bass and distortion levels."

I didn't quite know how to rephrase this so it does not sound bias, but it clearly is. TrevorLSciAct 23:16, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

If Strict Machine is clearly a derivative of I Feel Love, then so is about 80% of the pop-dance music of the last about 5-7 years. That's what I think. Also, I've read quite a few reviews of this track and somehow none of the reviewers seemed to be struck by this clear familiarity - no offence, but maybe you should back yourself up with something a bit more convincing than writing clearly in italics.

Basically that sentence above suggests that Strict Machine only got a little attention for Goldfrapp because it ripped off a hugely popular song and later it was used for an advert. That's grossly unfair.

I think it is unfair--and I did not write it (by clearly I meant that it was clearly bias. I happen to love the songTrevorLSciAct 21:52, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

I agree that it is clearly derivative of I Feel Love, so there was no point in anybody taking that personally. However, a better way to phrase that might be to say that it bears a strong resemblance to the Donna Summer song in question? Just putting in my $0.02. Justaduckyguy 09:25, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

What people fail to mention is the striking resemblance to the group's lead single off the next album (Ooh La La). There is no denying that the song uses the I Feel Love base, many many songs are doing it, more lately than ever, it still does not make it untrue. Dollvalley (talk) 12:11, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
