Talk:Strat-O-Matic
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
One point to make about Strat-O-Matic: It was a primary inspiration for the inventor of Magic: The Gathering, which spawned the even more popular Po-Ke-Mon card gamej, which is probably the most popular card game in history. I know this because the inventor, Richard Garfield, told me this years ago at a sales meeting, and has mentioned it many times in multiple interviews.
The advertisement for the Strat-o-Matic football game that appears in various football mags before each season is the EXACT same ad that has been running since I was a kid in the late 70s; really bizarre. And it's written in such odd syntax, with such corny cliche's-- very weird. I presume I'm not the only person that's noticed this.
- No, you're not...and the game's packaging and design has made only token changes in that time period as well. And some people wonder why these games are in decline... Thunderbunny 00:25, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
