[edit] Importance of the article

Hi,

I noticed the page Str8 buttah is attempting to be deleted. I think this page should stay, because it is the Biography of a living person, and also the references are listed. The rap group Str8Buttah has also released more than two album and they have singles that are receiving massive airplays in Nigeria. With all these reasons stated I strongly believe the article should stay.

Thanks. --9jahiphop 12:24, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

Howdy, thanks for the note. The notability criteria for bands is at WP:BAND. If you could clarify how it meets those criteria, it would go a long way. Thanks, --TeaDrinker (talk) 08:28, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Notable criteria for the band

  • Their singles “The Anthem has been on the top 100 Nigeria Hip hop music chart for over 2 months and it still remains on the top 100 Nigeria hip hop music chart as of present.
  • The rap group has also released more than two albums with their indie record label called Str8 buttah Productions and the names of the albums are: A Stellar Demonstration (2003), By Word of Mouth (2005), IllaStr8 (2007), and Project Cancer (2007).
  • Their tunes has also been placed in rotation nationally by major Nigeria radio stations such as Brila FM,Cool FM , Metro FM (FRCN) Abuja, Nigeria these radio stations are in the Metropolitan city of Lagos the former capital city of Nigeria and there are some notable radio stations in Abuja, Nigeria the present capital city of Nigeria that has been airing their tunes for sometimes now Kapital FM (FRCN) Abuja, Nigeria.
  • The have also be subject to an hour broadcast by the African Independent Television (AIT) where they were been discussed for the work they are doing underground with their music and how they have been able to reach the Nigerian Government through their music; they are sure the next thing to happen to the development of hip hop in Africa.

I hope with all these criteria you will allow the article to stay because they are group of young men that has taken it upon themselves to fight corruption through their music and empower the youths of Nigeria that they can do absolutely anything if they put their mind into it.

Thank you. --9jahiphop 12:00, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
