Stronghold is the fourth full length album by Summoning. This album marked a change in the sound of Summoning as it was much more "guitar orientated with more compact keyboard-melodies"[1]. Their lyrics tended to drift away from Tolkien-related subjects on this album. 'Where Hope and Daylight Die' features Tania Borsky on lead vocals, who is Protector's ex-girlfriend and a former Die Verbannten Kinder Evas member.
This album is also the first Summoning album to feature audio-clips; the clips used on this album were from the movies Braveheart and Legend.[2]
