String Quintet, Op. 29 (Beethoven)

String Quintet, Op. 29 in C major composed by Ludwig van Beethoven was first published in 1801. This work is a "viola quintet" in that is scored for string quartet and an extra viola (two violins, two violas and cello). With the Op. 104 quintet being an arrangement of an earlier piano trio and later fugue being a fragmentary work, this work is the only full-scale, original composition of Beethoven's in the string quintet genre.
