Stifer is a heavy metal band formed in Nevada County by guitarists Jesse Hunter and Wes Fox, drummer Bryan McAleese, and bassist Nolan Watt.
[edit] Band's Formation
Strifer was formed in the twin cities of Nevada County by Jesse, Wes, Bryan, and Nolan. The band recruited bass player Brett Lewis shortly after their original bass player, Nolan, left to pursue an education in music at University of California, Santa Cruz. Following Nolan's return from the university, Brett was kicked from the band and Nolan returned to his original position as bassist. Jesse Hunter, during the Warped Tour '06 show, decided to sign up for the Bodog Battle of the Bands. In December, 2006, the band drove to San Francisco and emerged as the victor over 846 other bands. Strifer went on national TV to compete for the $1,000,000 record deal, where only ten bands would be selected for a new reality show that was to premier on Fuse TV. Strifer was eliminated at the end of the first episode, leaving them in 11th place.
