Stretford Metrolink station is located on the corner of Chester Road and Edge Lane, it serves the suburb Stretford and eastern parts of Urmston.
A high-frequency shuttle service to the Trafford Centre runs from the Manchester-bound platform, other bus routes also serve the station. The station is in Ticketing Zone E.

The station originally opened as Edge Lane on 20 July 1849 by the Manchester South Junction and Altrincham Railway (MSJAR). Renamed Stretford in September 1849. Operated as a four-platform station from circa 1900 until 1963. Closed as a British Rail station on 24 December 1991. Reopened as a Metrolink station on 15 June 1992.
