[edit] Notes

  • The theme of Strangers in Our Own Land is the unease that some Native Hawaiians have had about land development on the islands as well as their lessening political clout, as Whites and Asians now make up a majority of Hawaii's population. These sentiments have been expressed by the Aloha ʻAina movement.
