Stranger in a Strange Land (U2 song)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Stranger In A Strange Land is a song by the Irish rock band U2. It's the ninth song in the October. It was written by Bono. The song is about a time when they were touring mainland Europe. When in Germany, Bono visited the wall. He climbed in a looking tower and from there he watched into East Berlin. It was there that he saw in the distance an east german border soldier about his same age. This song describes the feeling he had when he tried to make contact with that soldier. The "Stranger" in the song represents the soldier, and the "Strange Land" represents East Germany.{ref} [1]
