Strange Cargo is a 1940 American film by MGM. It is based on the 1936 novel, Not Too Narrow, Not Too Deep by Richard Sale. The film starred Joan Crawford, Clark Gable, Ian Hunter, Peter Lorre, and Paul Lukas.

In a story with religious symbolism, Crawford plays a prostitute, who finds herself in trouble for associating with a prisoner, and later follows the escaped prisoner along with others.
