[edit] RAF Stradishall
In 1938 the Royal Air Force built an airfield at Stradishall. The airfield closed in 1970 and is now the site of Highpoint category C prison. Part of the former airfield remains a MOD training site which is closed to the public. There is a memorial to RAF Stradishall outside Sterling House which was once part of the officers quarters and now is a training unit for the Prison service.
