[edit] Welcome

Hello, Storms991, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Wikipedia Boot Camp, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! [edit] your problems with being mis-identified as a vandal

I noted your problem with some of your good faith edits being mis-interpreted as vandalism and having them wrongly reverted. You may wish to get into the habit of putting a one line edit summary on the changes you make. It helps others see what your intention is. --Brian R Hunter (talk) 20:50, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] bots and people

I've replied on my page

Some editors have noted that most vandalism is done by anonymous users so they habitually check those edits.
Sometimes they get it wrong. Vandalism is a big problem but it does not excuse the false positives that careless editors
make which can cause a lot of ill feeling. Good bots like {{user|ClueBot}} have details on how they are used and seem to
make few mistakes.
''Real people'' sometimes use tools to help them like [[Wikipedia:Huggle|Huggle]]; indiscriminate use can lead to mistakes.

but I still struggle with these user talk pages and the way discussions get split across pages so have replied here as well :). We should all assume good faith and help each other, report bad bots, explain our actions to other editors and discuss contentious changes on the talk pages. Wikipedia is a collaborative tool, keep up the good work. --Brian R Hunter (talk) 07:09, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
