[edit] Typo in template name

In this edit to AWplanet, you misspelled {{primarysources}}, leading to a busted template instantiation, as seen here. Just a minor typo, but I wanted to let you know. — Alan De Smet | Talk 23:44, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

  • Thanks! I was going too fast. --Stormbay (talk) 03:01, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

I have rejected your CSD nomination of this article, as the reason you gave does not meet the criteria specified in WP:CSD. I suggest you take it to WP:PROD or WP:AFD instead. —  Tivedshambo  (t/c) 21:52, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Notability of Stephen Bamford

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Stephen Bamford, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Stephen Bamford seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Stephen Bamford, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. [edit] Deleting "Ulf Gartzke" wikipedia entry

Hello!

I was just alerted by a friend that you proposed to delete my current Wikipedia entry. That's fine with me as I think it had been tagged for "deletion" for quite some time. (I saw earlier that there were "notability concerns" but (in accordance with Wikipedia policies) never felt compelled to do anything about that... : )

The only think I would ask is that you remove it speedily (that is before 4/12)

Thanks again!

I just recommended the deletion; others will make the decision. --Stormbay (talk) 02:16, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

Thanks for the compliment on my talk page. I do my best to contribute useful information in the limited time I have available. Dirac66 (talk) 02:22, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Syed Ali Akbar

re: your PROD, I only removed the prod because it just came off AfD and am pretty sure it needs to go back there. FWIW, I'd support deletion as the previous keep wasn't that convincing. TRAVELLINGCARIMy storyTell me yours 23:47, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

No worries, just happened to notice because it's still on my watchlist - and I remembered it because I was the one who took it to AfD the first time. I'm hoping for a non COI miracle improving that article, but there isn't much out there. TRAVELLINGCARIMy storyTell me yours 03:06, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Charles de Biencourt de Saint-Just‎

I removed your unsourced statement in the Charles de Biencourt de Saint-Just‎ article that said: "Both Charles and his father had a vision of a flourishing agricultural settlement in Acadia." I could not find any information on agricultural development by him, only his extensive fur-trading activities. Perhaps you have your source for this and can insert the information details and reference. Thanks. Jonathan Logan (talk) 15:14, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

  • I perhaps overstated the reference that I found. It was in the last paragraph of the DoCB reference provided. The "off and on" policy of the French was to provide a sustainable and growing agricultural base in Acadia. However, the greed for furs and fish seemed to over-ride the effort to send out genuine farmers to the area. Include a reference or not - your call! Cheers! --Stormbay (talk) 17:13, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
Thanks. Biencourt was all about fast profits from furs and never promoted agriculture which was fundamental to sustaining a colony. The neglect by the French aristocrats in charge at that time was such that they were constantly short of food and Port-Royal went into severe decay. Biencourt survuived in his elder years because the natives took him in. 12:28, 15 May 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jonathan Logan (talkcontribs)

[edit] Cross Country Flying

Hello -- In accordance with the guidelines for proposed deletion, I have removed your tag from the Cross-country flying article. I believe I can fix it by adding information to it, and that the article itself is notable once my content has been added. I have elaborated further on the article's talk page. Thought you might want a heads up! Lumbergh (talk) 03:41, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

  • Thanks for the note. Cheers! --Stormbay (talk) 04:01, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Removed prod from Nicolas Cowan, see talk page for explanation.

I have removed the {{prod}} tag from Nicolas Cowan, which you proposed for deletion, because I think that this article should not be deleted from Wikipedia. I'm leaving this message here to notify you about it. If you still think the article should be deleted, please don't add the {{prod}} template back to the article. Instead, feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks! -- Atamachat 18:00, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

  • That is fine by me. It really could use work to make the article work. Cheers! --Stormbay (talk) 20:23, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Saekson Janjira and other kickboxing articles

I saw you tagged Saekson Janjira. I've been contributing here on muay thai and kickboxing a lot, i got about 2700+ edits on kickboxing. I know the guy is notable fighter and trainer but the problem i'm having is all these low quality articles been created here in wikipedia about the sport. So i have no problem that its being cleaned up and deleted. There's a few others u wanna take a look at. All these are non notables: Wilver (Rio) Johnson, Walter (Von) McGee, Pete(El Dorado) Ortega, Christopher Allen, Alejandro DasCola, Bernardo Jua, Willie(KO) McGee, Gilberto (Gil) Diaz, Frederico Vega, Carlos Andino, Jonathan (Johnny) Spinks, Robert Visitacion, Robert Duttman, Ronnie Deleon, John Roycroft (kickboxer). Cheers. Marty Rockatansky (talk) 04:56, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

Quite a list! I'm always hesitant to tag these because my knowledge is limited but I ran into this on a clean up. I will look at some of the others tho. Thanks for your interesr! --Stormbay (talk) 14:31, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
