User talk:Stomme/Mannerism

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hi Stomme, thanks again for posting this; I think it will indeed be very helpful in revising the Mannerism page. And you are quite with regards to the limits of Freedberg... [Haha, as an Italianist myself, if would hardly occur to me to worry if someone is presenting a narrow, Apennine definition or not, but the point is well taken!] At the moment, I'm a little absorbed in Pontormo, but will think of this as a larger ongoing project.
On that note, I wonder if you could answer a slightly unrelated question for me, as someone who is clearly more experienced around here: do you understand the rules about image rights on Wikimedia/pedia? More specifically, do you happen to know if I can pull images off the wga.hu and feed them into the wiki commons? What about scans that I've made from books? I've read through and through the guidelines, and find them to be (typically) meandering and ultimately opaque. The reason I ask is because there are any number of pictures that are referenced in the Pontormo and other pieces that aren't illustrated. This is a pet-peeve of mine, so I'd like to rectify it if possible. Thank you, thank you, Isocephaly (talk) 14:03, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
