"Before cork came into common use, wine bottles were sealed with custom ground glass stoppers," Doesn't everyone know how amphorae were sealed? A moment's reflection on the expense would halt this suggestion. How do statements like this get into Wikipedia? --Wetman 11:00, 23 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- removed all the wine stuff - dup of stuff at main cork entry. I think this is candidate for moving to Wiktionary really.
