Impromtu Balloon Landing

Residents at the top end of Stone had a surprise last night (Thursday 11th May) when a Hot air balloon made an unexpected landing on the common plot opposite York and Princess Street.

The balloon managed to navigate its way over the hedge and make a clean landing on the plot, pursued by its floor crew in landrovers they managed to secure the balloon for deflation.

Many local residents rushed out to see what was going on and the children ended up helping the crew fold the balloon up.

All in all it was a pleasant surprise adding a little excitement to the evening for many of the local children, People were stopping cars on old road to see what was going on.
