[edit] Stocksbridge (talk · contribs)

Wow, fab work by Stocksbridge. Is it worth separating the info on the ground out into a separate article? L.J.Skinnerwot|I did 22:39, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Coordinates and {{SheffieldStructures}} template

Can I ask Stocksbridge why s/he removed the above? If no explanation is given, I shall revert as I think they add to the article by showing where the ground is, and also link to other Sheffield and Sport in Sheffield articles. L.J.Skinnerwot|I did 17:09, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Comments from my review at FAC

A few comments before I feel I can support 100%.

  • Not overwhelmed by the opening single-sentence paragraph. Could merge with some info from the following para to make the flow more even.
    • I've just merged the two paragraphs - what do you think?
  • "rounds proper" - I know what this is but a non-expert may have problems.
    • changed
  • "...the premier competition ..." says who? Is it really the premier cup competition? Still a bit peacock.
    • changed - what do you think?
  • "it is thus..." - bit Shakespearian for me!
    • junked
  • "The average figure was exactly the same as ..." - don't really need exactly, and besides, it's probably only exactly to the nearest whole number, right?
    • junked
  • I think I've mentioned it once before but consider uploading free use images (e.g. the ones you created) to Commons rather than Wikipedia. It's really not too hard and it's better for everyone.
    • I'll look into this, but this houldn't affect the FAC-or-otherwise qaulity of this article, should it......?
  • League position graph could do with further annotation, maybe to state which leagues each pair of yellow lines delineate, and maybe even a numbered y-axis to give context as to how high up the "non-league" ladder the whole graph is.
    • aaarrrgggghhhhhhhh - it took me all weekend to create that graph, please don't make me re-do it!!!!!!!!!
      • But seriously, I will see what my completely minimal skills with the package I used to create that can do when I'm back on my home PC.....
  • "a step three division" - what does this mean?
    • changed
  • "the fee when Lee Mills was..." don't think you need to repeat "the fee" here.
    • junked
  • I tend to find the U-18 managers/physio etc as trivial. I'd prefer you have the manager/assistant manager somewhere in the text along with the club director(s) and axe the remainder.
    • I've taken a different approach and written a little bit of prose, as opposed to bullet points, mentioning the key men. Do you think this works better.......?

Feel free to respond here or to me directly according to your feelings! The Rambling Man (talk) 10:31, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
